All the sensory features your child loves now in a lighter fabric made for warmer days, layering, and kids who prefer a less weighty feel.

Choose between two fabric options:

  • Lightweight Fleece: soft, brushed interior with a light cotton fleece feel. The familiar hoodie texture, just airier and less heavy than our original.
  • French Terry: smooth looped interior, no brushed pile (not fuzzy). Our most breathable option that is ideal for summer, warm climates, or kids who run hot.

Both fabrics include all the same QuietSense™ sensory features:

  • Built-in sound reducing hood
  • Eye mask (optional to have it down or up)
  • No tags and flat seams
  • Pockets
  • Thumbholes
  • Faux drawstring
  • Magnetic closures
  • 100% cotton

This hoodie has a sound-reducing hood that gives the hood a weighted feel and an eye mask that can be pulled down or folded up for sensory regulation anywhere.

The specialized material in the hood is most effective at blocking high frequency noises and works best when it fits closely to the head.

Magnetic closures allow for a seamless finish (no irritating zippers that rub), greater independence in dressing even if fine motor skills are challenging, and are fun to fidget with!

Sound Reducing Sensory Friendly Hoodie

How to Choose Your Fabric

Both fabric options include the same QuietSense™ hoodie construction, the same sound-reducing hood, and all the same sensory features. The difference is entirely in how they feel and how warm they wear.

LIGHTWEIGHT FLEECE Soft, lightly brushed interior. The classic sweatshirt feel, just airier and less heavy than our original hoodie. A great choice for spring and fall, or for kids who love a cozy texture but find our original too warm or too heavy.

FRENCH TERRY Smooth looped interior with no brushed pile. Our most breathable option. Lightweight, cool, and very low texture against the skin. Ideal for summer, warm climates, or kids who run hot or are sensitive to the fuzzy feel of fleece.

NOT SURE WHICH TO PICK? Choose Lightweight Fleece if your child loves a soft, familiar sweatshirt feel but needs something lighter. Choose French Terry if your child runs warm, overheats easily, or prefers a smoother feel against their skin.

See the Fabric Comparison Chart in the product images for a full side-by-side breakdown.

About The Sound Reducing Hood

The material sewn around the ears of the hood typically blocks around 10–30 decibels of sound depending on frequency and how snugly it fits to the ears. It is the most effective at reducing high-frequency sounds. The lightweight fabric does not affect the hood's performance.

When to Wear It

The Sound Reducing Sensory Hoodie is ideal for any environment or situation where loud noises can be overstimulating or when a child is particularly sensitive to noise. It's suitable for school cafeterias, music classes, the playground, bus rides, car rides, and even the grocery store. It provides a sensory-friendly way to manage noise and can be used to ease transitions, which can often lead to sensory overload. Whether at home or in public spaces, this hoodie offers a valuable tool for sensory regulation and sensory breaks.
